For a small chemical plant with low gas consumption, what type of boiler is more economical and cost-effective? I hope those who understand can come and discuss it! ! !
For the boiler in your small chemical plant, you can use a small coal or oil-fired boiler; this should be determined based on your usual steam consumption ! If there are large factories around you that can use their steam, you can save on investment costs! !
The boiler should be selected based on factors such as the hourly gas consumption, as well as the unit’s facilities, site conditions, financial resources, and transportation options. Only by knowing the hourly gas consumption can it be determined what capacity of boiler is needed. If it is more convenient for the unit to use oil or steam, and if financial resources permit, then a fuel or gas boiler can be purchased； If the factory premises and site conditions permit, if transportation is efficient and coal transportation is convenient, then a coal-fired boiler can be used. For its design, either a fire-tube boiler with a single drum or a water-tube boiler with two drums can be chosen; as for the combustion method, either a chain grate boiler, a reciprocating grate boiler, or a fixed grate boiler can be utilized. The specific type of boiler to choose should be determined after taking all the above factors into consideration.
The “small” size mentioned by the original poster – I wonder just how small it is? Based on my own practical experience, I have encountered two small factories that produce nitrocellulose; these factories use it mainly for heating purposes. They also have two jacketed boilers, and the amount of steam required is relatively low. They employ a coal-fired boiler with a fixed grate that has a capacity of 1 ton per hour; this boiler can also burn wood and other materials. That’s enough; the pressure is 1.0 MPa.
