Our company has installed a new set of desalination equipment using reverse osmosis membranes. The installation is now complete, but I don’t want to conduct a trial run at this time. What impact will it have on the installed reverse osmosis membranes if a trial run is not carried out?
Whose membrane is it? If it’s a DOW membrane, since it’s a dry membrane, it doesn’t matter ； If it is membranes from Hydronix and other companies, all valves should be closed to keep the system isolated; this is necessary to ensure that the membranes remain moist at all times, otherwise they will get damaged.
It has an impact; over time, fungi can grow. You can rinse the system with a 1% sodium bisulfite solution, fill the reverse osmosis membrane with protective fluid, close all valves, and keep the system isolated. When the temperature is above 27 degrees, the protective fluid should be replaced every half month; when it is below 27 degrees, it should be replaced once a month
