In our company’s atmospheric distillation columns, the control of the streams coming from each side line involves directly regulating the temperature of those streams; it’s a simple PID control approach. However, it’s difficult to maintain a stable temperature, and automatic control is challenging to implement. Do anyone have any good suggestions? Are there any colleagues in this field? Let’s exchange experiences!
I don’t understand the specific requirements. If the fluctuations are large in automatic mode, it is a problem with the PID parameter settings; adjust these parameters again. Another reason is improper process operation, which causes adjusting one temperature to affect other points; this requires intervention from the process operators.
1. If it is stable in manual mode but experiences large control fluctuations in automatic mode, it is a problem with the PID parameter settings. If stability cannot be achieved even in manual mode, it may be due to an incorrect selection of the CV value for the control valve; this requires calculation by the design team. 3. Another reason could be improper process operation, which causes adjustments to one temperature to affect other points; this needs to be addressed by the process operators.
