Our company is a fertilizer factory; the gas production plant uses fixed-bed batch gas generators. In the past, butterfly valves were used, which caused significant pressure fluctuations, so PID control was employed. May I ask how to select the steam valve with a pressure of 0.07 MPa for the gas generation system in sister units?
It is important that the Kv value is calculated based on the external steam pressure and the maximum steam consumption, and it is from this Kv value that the flow coefficient of the control valve is determined.
The triple-eccentric hard-sealed butterfly valve is currently being used, and during low-flow control, the safety valve often experiences overpressure. I wonder if that type of valve can adapt better to intermittent regulation.
It is recommended to consider using a staged control approach: for low flow rates, control is achieved through a small-diameter control valve, with the large control valve kept fully closed; only after the small-diameter control valve is fully open does the large control valve begin to adjust.
Can sleeve valves be used for the steam valves in the gas generation section?
Our unit uses sleeve valves; they have experienced problems due to scale buildup, oscillation, and the valve stem has broken three times. The last time, our unit thickened the valve stem itself, leaving the area in contact with the packing at its original diameter to ensure normal operation
V-ball can be considered; it has a high adjustable ratio and a large voltage tolerance.
Our unit uses butterfly valves with dual diaphragms.
It seems that sleeve valves tend to get stuck, and butterfly valves are not easy to adjust when only one furnace is in operation.
