For control valves that rotate eccentrically, the control characteristics seem not to be very good during water testing; they are not linear. Has anyone used such valves and what are their experiences?
We use FLOWSERVE eccentric rotary valves. Initially, we used a domestically produced model from Shanghai, but we found that its performance was not very good – it didn’t function properly at flow rates of 1% to 4%, and it reached its maximum flow rate around 35% to 45%; I have discussed this with the instrumentation team; the spool of the eccentric rotary valve determines its operational linearity ; However, for heavy oil or oil with impurities, an eccentric rotary valve is the best choice.
