There are two different explanations regarding 231 and 241: some say that after the electrolyzer is filled with liquid, 241 continues to supply a low-concentration saline solution for circulation in order to raise the temperature, and it is only when the current reaches 5KA that it switches to 231. Another way of putting it is that once the electrolyzer is filled with liquid, high-concentration brine is supplied directly by 231, and immediately the current is applied, causing the temperature of the electrolyzer to rise! I think the first explanation might refer to the operation of electrolyzers by Kitakata Kikai, while the second should relate to the operational requirements of Asahi Kasei, since Asahi Kasei does not have a system for heating electrolyzers with steam. Another point is to ask the experts: which of the electrolyzers made by Beihua Machine and Asahi Kasei does not have a valve installed at the chlorine outlet on the anode side of the electrolyzer! I’m not sure about Beihua Machinery, but a 9-valve is installed on the chlorine gas pipeline at the anode outlet of the Asahi Kasei electrolyzer
In the Beihua Machinery electrolyzer, after liquid filling is complete and circulation begins, diluted brine is still supplied by 241 to facilitate temperature rise during circulation; only when the current reaches 5 KA is it switched to 231.
In the Beihuaji electrolyzer, after liquid filling is complete and circulation begins, 241 is still used to supply diluted brine for circulation and temperature rise; however, 231 is switched in when power is applied. Our 231 and 241 are interlocked; if 231 is not switched, no power can be supplied at all!
A 9-valve is installed at the anode outlet of Asahi Kasei; it is switched in before increasing the current. The situation for Kitakikaiki is unclear
Beihua machine tank: After filling with liquid, directly use 231 to introduce high-concentration brine; there is no valve No. 9 at the anode outlet, only valves 11 and 13! It seems there have been changes in the latest manufacturing process; one diaphragm valve on unit 11 has been replaced by two butterfly valves, and we are currently testing this setup!
We have not installed valve 9# at the anode outlet; only valves 11# and 13# are present there. After the filling is complete, the electrolyzer is heated cyclically using 241 as the feed material; once the desired temperature is reached and power needs to be supplied, 241 is switched to 231. We are using electrolyzers manufactured by Beihua Machinery!
