What type of lubricating oil is used in the oil injection system of reciprocating compressors? What are the specific requirements? What is the difference from the lubricant used for the moving parts of compressors?
Our compressor oiling system uses 150# compressor oil, while the operating system uses 68# lubricating oil. Mainly: the viscosity used ; Good adsorption and wedging capacity ; It has high purity and antioxidant properties, is non-corrosive, and does not deteriorate easily under the influence of water or air.
150# mechanical oil for high-power reciprocating machines; Use 68# mechanical oil for capacities below 100 kW ; In winter, use No. 13 compressor oil in the oil injector; in summer, use No. 19 compressor oil.
For the reciprocating compressors in my hydrogen production and hydrogenation units, the compressors for fresh hydrogen use L-DAB150, while those used for hydrogen production and membrane separation applications use L-TSA68. (There’s no choice; under Sinopec’s system, only Great Wall brand lubricants can be used.) )
Our reciprocating compressors here use 150# compressor oil, including the motors and oil injectors
The oil used for lubricating reciprocating units and their moving parts is directly related to the compressor’s load/media: compressors with higher exhaust temperatures require oils with a higher viscosity; Based on experience: for the moving parts of small and medium-sized units, HL68 is suitable, while DAB150 can be used for lubrication. For the moving parts of large units, DAB150 is used, and the lubricant should be of a grade higher than 150, as excessively high exhaust temperatures can cause oil of grade 150 to clog, which hinders the proper functioning of the valves (this is just experience-based advice for reference only) :)
L-DAB150 for hydrogenation compressors, L-TSA68 for hydrogen production compressors
LDAB150 and LDAB100 can be used depending on the season; this oil is not cheap. . . . .
Here, the oil used for the compressor lubricator is D-LHB150, while the oil used for the moving parts is D-LAB150. In other systems, however, the oil used for the compressor lubricator is BP-460, with D-LAB150 being the oil used for the moving parts
