I have been looking at a lot of information on underground coal gasification in recent times. Although there are already many industrial-scale experiments carried out in China, I’m not sure what the prospects for large-scale implementation are Although underground coal gasification can reduce the investment costs associated with surface gasification as well as environmental pressures, it seems that this method is greatly influenced by geological conditions and the distribution of coal seams. If not handled properly, the gases generated may spread beneath the surface, causing significant pollution. Furthermore, issues such as backfilling in mining and mining efficiency also need to be considered.
