In the conventional strength calculations for pressure vessels, there is no method for calculating the strength of thin-wall tube sheet heat exchangers. At this time, can we use the method specified in standard GB16508-96 \"Calculation of Strength of Pressured Components in Shell and Tube Boilers\" to calculate the aforementioned tube sheets, and will the results obtained be recognized by the boiler inspection authority?
It shouldn’t be possible; the design calculations should be carried out in accordance with GB151.
Using it for one’s own reference should be fine, but if shown to those people, it’s likely to fail. SW6 seems to place the thin tube sheet on the JB4732 analysis and design module; therefore, it is likely that analysis and design will still be needed to convince those people.
