Ultraviolet spectrophotometer is used to measure total nitrogen. Additionally, there are test strips available abroad that are similar to pH test strips and can detect NO2- and NO3-. They give results more quickly; our company used them at one time, but they were very expensive, so we stopped using them later on.
Two options: one is infrared; constant analysis will definitely work fine; The second is chromatography; TCD is used for this, while DID definitely won’t work. We are dealing with trace amounts here, so PQ is suitable for such tasks. Apart from the column lifespan, there shouldn’t be any problems. Choose for yourself!
Please make it clear: are you conducting process monitoring or sampling inspections? The two modes determine the differences in your analysis methods. Personal opinion.
I read about the determination of total nitrogen using ultraviolet spectrophotometry in environmental testing reports; this method is equivalent to standards such as GB11894-89, and it can be used to detect total nitrogen. Also, the test strips we use are made in Germany; I don’t quite understand them. It’s a Merckoquant 1.10020 Nitrate-test strip – I’m not sure if it has been used before; does anyone know?
