What type of elbow should be used for pipes in pneumatic conveying of plant ash? Is anti-wear treatment needed? Would plastic lining work? room temperature
The main component of plant ash is K2CO3, making it an alkaline substance. Under normal conditions, it appears as a powder. For pipes used in pneumatic conveying of plant ash, elbows should be large-radius bends (R≥6D). If the material does not contain impurities such as sand, wear resistance treatment is not necessary. As for the plastic lining, it is generally used for corrosion prevention. Although this material is alkaline, ordinary steel pipes (20# steel or stainless steel) can withstand its corrosive effects at room temperature.
