I remember that at a **safety meeting**, the management discussed the structure of safety management departments. It was stated that where laws require the establishment of separate safety management departments, these should not be combined with departments such as production or security; instead, it was clear that they could be integrated with environmental protection departments, which shows well that there are many similarities between safety and environmental protection tasks in enterprises. In fact, many functional departments are called Safety and Environment Departments; the role held in such departments is that of HSE supervisor, and the management approach used is the HSE management system. Dear sea friends, is there any product that combines safety and environmental management? Is safety the main focus in actual use, or is it the environment?
My department is called the Department of Safety and Environmental Protection. In fact, for those who fulfill their duties responsibly, both safety and environmental protection are important; neither aspect can be compromised, as any problem in either area could result in the loss of one’s job. Therefore, one must carry out their tasks as required, otherwise they lack professional ethics.

Our company is simply called Environmental Safety; its abbreviation is HSE. They refer to themselves as SHE. They are in charge of safety as well as environmental matters, but not in the context of environmental protection – it’s more about maintaining a clean and safe working environment, haha!

Our company manages safety and environmental protection separately, as with increasing emphasis on both areas, it’s not possible to focus on both at the same time; thus, priority must be given to one of them, which may lead to delays in that particular area. Don’t think that only environmental protection and safety are important – everything is important! Environmental protection has its difficulties, and safety has its own challenges. Safety and environmental protection in the chemical industry are always closely linked. In chemical industry safety accidents, environmental protection professionals are often inevitably involved. Accident plans also mostly take the environment and safety as a whole into consideration.
On the other hand, if safety is ensured, environmental protection will be easier； If environmental protection is properly implemented, there will also be more room for safety in emergency situations. I believe that in chemical companies, safety and environmental protection should be inseparable partners!
