I’ve worked on projects, processes, and piping; I’ll do anything to survive.
What a statement – “ready to do anything for a living.” The person upstairs really spoke out what we all feel. Perhaps sometimes some people say that they do it for their ideals, but aren’t our ideals nothing more than an ideal life? So we keep striving, striving to become omnipotent
Do those involved in manufacturing processes and piping work often get assigned to projects? Both design and engineering fields have shrunk sharply; I’m on the verge of losing my job
Actually, pipeline design is not easy at all, but some managers in organizations don’t realize this and think it’s simple. So those who want to earn more money in pipeline design would be better off working at a design firm; there are no good prospects within companies, at least that’s how it is for me right now. I really want to forget about pipeline design, but how can you forget something once you’ve learned it? It’s so frustrating :(
In the chemical engineering design industry, the process piping specialty plays a key role in chemical engineering design; it involves a lot of work and requires considering numerous factors. Therefore, I believe that those who work in the field of chemical processes and piping are truly the elites of the design industry!
When working on the piping design for skid-mounted equipment in a relatively small organization, it seems that there aren’t many aspects involved. However, there is a lot of knowledge required for piping work; therefore, one needs to master a great deal of knowledge. It’s only in larger design firms that one can truly learn something! But how can one get in? Sorrow!

A person who handles piping must be proficient in the relevant techniques; it’s best to have worked in three shifts over the years, so that the designs you create will be well-received. If you also have some artistic talent, then the results will be both functional and aesthetically pleasing!
Compared to the process engineering field, pipeline engineering is likely to involve more specific and tangible work. From a professional perspective, pipeline design is carried out to achieve process objectives (by arranging pipelines in accordance with the PID), so the pipeline discipline has a clearer purpose and is more goal-oriented in its work. The requirements for chemical engineering knowledge in the field of process engineering, in terms of both breadth and depth, exceed the complexity involved in pipeline design. (I’m not minimizing the importance of the piping field here; after all, I come from that field myself, but the process engineering field requires a much greater level of knowledge accumulation than piping does.) From an overall project perspective, both process engineering and piping are essential core fields, absolute priorities. So as long as you pay attention to accumulating every little bit of work experience, you will naturally handle future tasks with ease and be able to go even further!
These days, it’s hard to find people who have worked on the ground for a few years; such people need to do physical labor themselves in order to understand whether the equipment used in the production process is structurally sound. Those who have worked alongside workers on the production line, shared their meals and living conditions with them, and gained practical experience through hard work are even rarer. Nowadays, some so-called experts merely take a superficial look at things and make decisions based on pre-established guidelines – there are too many of them. Moreover, employers prefer those with higher educational qualifications, so no one wants to do that kind of work
It seems that those who work on piping are considered to be doing trivial tasks with no technical value, and aren’t taken seriously by company management, unless they reach a position of technical responsibility and approval; There are so many things to consider; it’s exhausting both physically and mentally, and it also causes stress. So I think if one can work in the field of craftsmanship, they should avoid working with pipelines
Process, piping – do them together; everyone has the opportunity to learn* and the chance to develop themselves
Piping, processes, steel structures, equipment, welding, lifting – basically an all-rounder: lol
