Compared to other desulfurization methods, I wonder if wet limestone-gypsum desulfurization operates stably? I’ve seen some information stating that it tends to scale and get clogged, but these issues should have been resolved by now. Some power plants with calcium-based desulfurization in their boilers can actually receive desulfurization tariff rates even without using limestone. I’m not sure how well the existing desulfurization facilities are functioning; it’s possible they are only in place to meet the requirements of environmental inspection agencies. I hope everyone will share more information on this!

The method of spraying calcium into the furnace to increase humidity at the rear section does not achieve high desulfurization efficiency, and the fluidized bed method is also not suitable for coal with high sulfur content. In Guangzhou, two 125MW power units were originally equipped with fluidized bed systems but have since been converted to wet methods
The main problem with wet limestone desulfurization is the GHH issue; other corrosion and clogging problems can be resolved.
Calcium-based desulfurization unit. If the equipment is properly selected, such as with many imported units, most of them are in operation. Generally, there are more problems after the desulfurization tower process, and the environment is not very good. Pre-crushing of the absorbent and similar steps are all acceptable.
