What are the differences between single-tower full-blowoff stripping, single-tower side-suction stripping, and double-tower stripping? Overall, which one has the lowest operating cost (including the costs associated with sulfur recovery)? I would appreciate the advice from all of you experts.
Of course, it’s simpler and cheaper to blow air out from the entire tower. But it is harmful or beneficial neither to sulfur recovery. Because the hydrogen sulfide emitted from the entire tower contains a high level of ammonia, it can affect the combustion in the sulfur production furnace. If the furnace temperature is too low, ammonia cannot be fully decomposed; if it is too high, it increases the load on the sulfur production furnace and reduces its service life.
