The electric tracing cable terminal sealing box is used to seal the end of the electric tracing cable; is wiring not required? One of my colleagues shorted the terminals, resulting in a resistance of just a few ohms; when they weren’t shorted, the resistance was in the tens of ohms. I personally think it shouldn’t be done – right? Also, it should work fine without the terminals, right? I’ve seen some terminals on site that had fallen to the ground; could that cause any problems?
If it’s short-circuited, then there will be a short circuit, and power won’t be delivered. The use of a sealed box for the terminal is intended to provide waterproofing, prevent people from getting electric shocks, and avoid short circuits
Cold sweat... I certainly wouldn’t dare... That manufacturer doesn’t even provide any information on such important matters... The ends must not be short-circuited under any circumstances; they have to be installed properly. The cables used at the ends are made of PTC material, which allows for self-regulation of temperature. The heating is generated by the black polymer semiconductor inside the wire core; if a short circuit occurs, electricity can no longer flow through that semiconductor, and thus no heat will be produced. Moreover, if there’s a direct short circuit, it will cause burning. The ends are there to ensure sealing, protecting against moisture and chemical threats. If the ends aren’t connected, it’s easy for a short circuit to occur due to moisture. This is one of the most important points mentioned in the product instructions or installation guide. Is this really acceptable? I suggest you contact the manufacturer as soon as possible, or call me—I’m also from a manufacturer, but not one that is so irresponsible. If this isn’t done properly, problems will definitely arise when using the product
