Experts: Is there a significant difference in pressure drop for the same type of butterfly valve, globe valve, and check valve produced by different manufacturers?
It’s different. For example, different opening heights of the stop valve result in different pressure drops; likewise, variations in the casting precision of the inner wall and the design of the flow channels also affect the pressure drop.
Generally, products with the same structure do not differ much from each other.
There are significant differences in pressure drop among butterfly valves, globe valves, and check valves of different types, while for valves of the same type (specifications & model), the differences between manufacturers are minimal.
The difference in pressure drop is also relative; obviously, the choice should be made based on the information provided by the manufacturer.
If the model is the same and the material is the same as well, the difference is absolutely minimal. If the materials are different, there are some issues.
