I am a technician in Workshop 1. In our workshop, to determine the pH after adjusting the acidity and alkalinity of the reaction materials, it is necessary to open the lid of the reactor for testing, which is both labor-intensive and results in inaccurate readings. I would like to ask everyone: how do you measure pH in your workshops? Is there a simple way? Can laboratory pH meters be used in production? I saw pen-type pH meters online; could someone who is experienced tell me how to use them?
If the material is relatively clean and you have high requirements regarding pH, you can install an online pH meter; the signal is sent to the control room, so there is no need to check it every time the boiler is started up – it’s convenient and accurate.
We install a tee at the outlet of the bottom valve; one branch leads to the discharge area, and another leads to a circulation pump, which we call the PH circulation pump. Install sampling ports and pH meters on the pipes returning to the reaction kettle in the loop. It can be displayed both on-site and on the DCS. At the same time, in order to improve the accuracy of the detection, it is necessary to wait until it has completed a full cycle during the testing process
Can pH meters be used in production? I’ve seen pen-type pH meters online at reasonable prices; are they suitable for use in production? Our workplace has low requirements
