Our company has several explosion-proof areas, and it is well known that static electricity on the human body must be eliminated before entering such areas. Previously, people would touch static discharge devices to do this, but recent inspections by relevant authorities have required a shift from passive to active methods; in other words, anti-static door curtains should be installed at the entrances, so that static electricity is discharged when one lifts the curtain while entering. This approach is certainly good, but it requires additional investment in safety measures. Is this really necessary? Who else has any other good methods and ideas?
The workshop is wondering whether it’s possible to install a horizontal bar at the entrance; people would need to push this bar to get in, and it should return to its original position automatically after they enter or leave. The essence is correct; the form can vary, such as a long guardrail at the entrance. Appropriate devices installed along the path leading to the entrance can achieve good results through signs and other warnings.
I’ve seen some companies install protective barriers at certain sections at the entrance; people walk under these barriers when entering, and the barriers are grounded. Of course, this doesn’t guarantee that people will actually hold onto the barriers. Is there any way to ensure that they do so?

The company isn’t a kindergarten; it should focus on educating people rather than relying on solutions that provide permanent protection. Enough static eliminators have been installed; what’s left is to ensure that employees follow the requirements
A sphere (with a diameter of 50 to 150 mm and positioned at a height of about 1.2 to 1.5 meters above the ground) can be installed at the entrance, with an anti-static grounding device connected to it below.

The key issue is whether employees can carry out their tasks properly; I believe that using static eliminators will suffice to eliminate static electricity, which in turn requires an increased focus on safety training and education.
