In recent years, the spray density of sulfuric acid absorption tower has more than doubled. For example, Guixi Xi's second system reaches a remarkable 42, while the earlier design is basically 18-20. The units are standard. I don't know why.
Is it an enhanced high-efficiency absorption tower? The higher the spray density, the better.
I think: One reason is that the original spray density is indeed a bit low, and the only way to make up for the uneven acid distribution is to increase the height of the filler. Moreover, the low density leads to a low absorption rate. Another reason is that the acid distributor has developed rapidly in these years. The original hanging claw could only distribute these points, but now it has developed into a grooved tube type, so more acid distribution points can be arranged. However, the more acid separation points, the better. For fillers of a certain specification, when the acid separation points reach a certain number, increasing the number of acid separation points will not improve the acid separation efficiency. Furthermore, in order to reduce the construction cost of the dry absorption tower, the only way to reduce the height of the tower and the height of the packing layer is to increase the density of the acid separation points.
