We now need multiple flow control orifice plates on our pipeline. Does anyone know the minimum distance between two such orifice plates?
There is no requirement for distance for the flow control orifice plate! Also, in my work I’ve never encountered a pipeline equipped with more than one flow control orifice plate. I’m not sure what the principle of operation for such orifice plates is
My flow control orifice plates are mainly used for reducing pressure; one orifice plate is not sufficient to achieve the desired pressure reduction, so two are necessary. I asked my master, saying that the distance between the two orifice plates should be such that the fluid’s flow pattern is fully restored, but it’s not easy to determine this distance. Is there anyone skilled who can help me?
Provide me with the calculation inputs and I’ll do the calculations for you. If multi-stage orifice plates are required, then a certain distance does indeed need to be considered.
The pressure is 5.1 MPa, and the flow rate is 7200 Kg/h. When venting the oxygen pipeline, using a single plate results in venting noise that does not meet the standards.
