Recently, while studying*, I came up with a question: as a process designer, when given a new project to work on, there are many factors to take into consideration when starting the design process. It’s often not possible to rely on just one single goal, and many of the requirements are contradictory to each other. How should one decide what to prioritize? What principles should be followed in order to complete the work well and produce a design that is satisfactory? !
Identify the key factors and focus on the main contradictions. A competent process designer must have a good overall perspective and pay attention to understanding things from a macro level.

Think about design issues as if you were the owner. Combine theory with practice and spend more time at construction sites.

The most important principles should be that safety, environmental protection, and occupational health meet the **acceptance standards**, with reasonable energy use being considered as a priority.
Learn on the spot as much as possible*, and learn from seniors’ experiences and lessons. Also, read more of the casual remarks in books; some of them are based on experience.
