How should the neck size of flat welding flange with neck (SO) be determined?
I also have the same question. No one responded to my last post. I hope someone can give me some advice this time!
The standard size of flange neck N is determined according to the steel pipe outer diameter series A or B.
It is determined based on the outer diameter of the selected pipe.
SO is a neck flat welding flange, N is generally configured according to the corresponding steel pipe, except for design drawings or customer requirements.
For the determination of the neck size of the necked flange: 1. The effective thickness of the small end of the flange neck is determined according to the outer diameter of the selected pipe; 2. The effective thickness of the large end of the flange neck is determined by first assuming and then checking the stress (axial stress of the flange neck, radial stress of the flange ring and tangential stress of the flange ring). For specific calculations, please follow the relevant formulas for flanges in Article 9 of GB150-1998 (page 84)
Just take the straight one, no need to leave it diagonally
There is a standard called HG-20617-1997 (American System). I haven’t used this standard for a long time. I don’t know if it is still in effect!
We generally use standard flange, HG20592. If non-standard flange is involved, you can refer to GB150 for calculation.
