For evaporation, first close the material valve of the upper tower, while opening the discharge valve and the circulation valve. Once all the material in the upper tower’s pipelines has been drained back into the urine tank, immediately open the steam valve to blow out any residual urine that might block the pipes.
Evaporation cleaning and material transfer are two issues. First, the evaporation system needs to be cleaned when it is shut down; during cleaning, both heaters stop heating, and the vacuum level in the second stage should be increased slightly—not too much, otherwise it will be impossible to see water in the sight glass of the second stage, and the water will remain suspended in the separator there. If water isn’t visible for an extended period, this can lead to blockages in the U-shaped bends. In such cases, reducing the vacuum level in the second stage will cause the water to flow downward. The temperature can be reduced to around 80 degrees for proper cleaning. Second, when transferring materials, it’s essential to ensure that all of the material is transferred to prevent urine from sticking to the walls of the tower. Also, the purge steam should not be turned on for too long.
