There is a serious leak in the converter of the acid production system, and it is planned to replace the entire unit in place. The converter has 5 layers – how long will this process take at the shortest?
For new production, tests, installation, insulation, filling, and so on, it will take at least 2 months
Is it possible to remove the existing converter and rebuild it? What size is the device? Is it an external leak or an internal leak?
If the site permits overall lifting, it is possible to first install the new one and then shut down the system for replacement. The timeline is as follows: 1. Hot blowing of the catalyst: 1 day. 2. Cold blowing of the catalyst and removal of the insulation layer: 1 day. 3. Screening of the catalyst and removal of the grids: 2–3 days. 4. Removal of pipes: 1–2 days. 5. Lifting (removing the old unit and installing the new one): 1 day. 6. Pipe connection: 3 days. 7. Pressure testing and leak repair: 1–2 days. 8. Insulation after pressure testing and leak repair: 20 days. 9. Other tasks such as lining installation, grid installation, drying, and catalyst installation are carried out simultaneously during the insulation process. 10. Heat up for 2 days. At the earliest, it takes about 40 days.
