In a production workshop with 4–5 5000L reaction vessels, what size of chiller is appropriate? Is ammonia cooling better, or is fluorocarbon better, or lithium bromide? Regarding the size of the freezer, it’s better to choose one that is slightly larger; this way I don’t have to keep the freezer running constantly – once the desired temperature is reached, I only need to turn on the circulation pump. If a smaller freezer is chosen, it will have to run for longer periods of time. How should this be considered? Let’s discuss this! ! ! !
Ammonia systems offer high cooling capacity; large refrigerators definitely use ammonia. Without a doubt, if fluorine were used to achieve the same level of cooling capacity, the pipe diameters would need to be much larger, and the requirements for various equipment would also be much higher. Fluorine has an impact on the atmosphere, but no effect on humans; therefore, in the event of a leak, there is no major problem. If ammonia leaks, it is extremely irritating and unbearable for humans.
