For the design drawings provided by the design institute nowadays, there is one material input pump and one material output pump for the large material tank. I communicated with the design institute to see if it would be possible to combine them, but the institute considered it inappropriate. Could anyone who has experience with this please offer some help? Thank you

It is technically feasible. It is automatically controlled by several switch valves; my previous factory was designed in this way. But the prerequisite is that unloading and loading cannot occur simultaneously

The technological requirements can be met; however, the process of piping on-site and the use of valves are indeed much more complex. Different operators are responsible for different tasks: the output pump is operated by the workshop staff, while the input pump is operated by the warehouse staff. Furthermore, since the head and power of the input pump and the output pump are different, does this have an impact on the transportation of the material?
The main issues are as follows: 1. Whether it is a batch operation, allowing the input and output pumps to operate at different times. 2. The key factors are flow rate and head; it is important that the flow rates of the inlet and outlet pumps be the same, and that their heads be either the same or fairly similar.
It can be set to operate intermittently, staggering the input and output; Regarding head and flow rate, if the requirements for output are met, then the impact on the input pump should not be significant; after all, the input pump is connected directly to the large tank. A higher or lower flow rate mainly affects the speed at which goods are unloaded, while the head value should not have much of an impact
In reality, it’s completely possible! In the units I was working in before, there was one pump for both output and input functions. It was usually in output mode; when feeding material, two operators would check to ensure that the valve was in input mode, and once the input process was complete, it would be switched back to output mode. The key point is that the number of times material needs to be fed there is relatively low – once a week is enough. If it has to be done frequently, it becomes troublesome, so it’s better to handle them separately
