Against the backdrop of the financial crisis, factories are all striving to reduce various production costs. Fuel costs account for roughly 70% of the costs associated with boiler steam production. Reducing fuel costs can effectively lower the overall cost of steam production by boilers. Please discuss the types of boilers used in various factories, their evaporation capacity, the type of fuel used, and their approximate prices. Are there any alternative, cheaper fuels available?
In fact, reducing the operating costs of boilers can be achieved through several approaches: improving boiler efficiency to thereby reduce various losses such as q2, q3, …, q6; as well as enhancing insulation to lower the flue gas temperature. From a fuel perspective, high-calorific-value fuels can be used in place of low-calorific-value fuels to reduce fuel consumption; however, if only low-cost fuels are used, the calorific value will be insufficient and fuel consumption will be high
Financial crises are really terrifying. Our company is a newly built chemical plant. The device hasn’t been turned on yet. The downstream users of the product are essentially in a state of semi-production halt. Our boilers are basically in good maintenance condition. Based on past experience, there are a few points I’d like to share with you. 1. Labor costs. 2. Fuel cost. 3. Reduction in water and electricity consumption. 4. Improvement in operating technology. 5. Reuse of flue gas waste heat. 6. Recovery of steam condensate.
For boilers without air preheating and economizers, these two items can be added.
1. Make more use of process waste heat to heat feedwater. 2. Cogeneration
From the boiler perspective, installing energy-saving devices such as economizers and air preheaters is a good option. It’s hard to say something about management costs.
