Can boiler manholes be used in the design of pressure vessels? Thank you!
I personally am reluctant to do this, but in fact I have seen many tank-type containers use boiler manholes. I think that even if it is used, it should meet the relevant requirements of GB150.
There are regulations specific to pots, and there are rules applicable to containers; in my opinion, these cannot be substituted for one another. The departments responsible for oversight and the standards in use also differ. If such substitution is indeed to be made, detailed calculation sheets along with historical data on similar cases in the past must be provided
Boiler manholes can be used in the design of pressure vessels, but for some medium and high-pressure vessels, I believe relevant vessel standard manholes are still necessary.
In practical applications, I have seen that self-tightening manholes are used for the manholes of air buffer tanks in air compressor stations.
