After dry quenching of coke is implemented in coke ovens, how are the wastewater generated by these ovens treated? For example: rising pipe drainage, basement drainage?
It must be sent to a wastewater treatment plant for processing
Controlling the dry quenching rate at around 95% consumes some of the coke oven wastewater

In the past, when wet quenching was used for coke cooling, the coking wastewater would be simply treated before being used for this purpose. With dry quenching, however, advanced treatment of the coking wastewater becomes essential. As the experts mentioned above, the wastewater that has undergone advanced treatment can be used to supplement the circulating water or as water seal water. Additionally, dry quenching also consumes a certain amount of circulating water and water seal water – but this is not related to the dry quenching rate. After advanced treatment, the remaining concentrated wastewater can be used in coal blending
I have been involved in several projects for treating coking wastewater. It’s already quite good if the COD level of such wastewater can be reduced to below 100; however, if it is to be used as recycled water and subjected to further treatment, the investment and operating costs will be very high
