I was wondering, when working at a design institute, is it better to become an environmental impact assessment engineer or an environmental protection engineer? Or which of these two certificates should I take first?
Environmental engineers have broader employment opportunities in the future.
These two certificates have different uses; the registration as an environmental protection engineer is related to design work, and the qualification of a design institute is also required； Environmental assessors are specialized in environmental assessment. In my opinion, one should at least register as an environmental engineer first; by 2010, the qualifications of design institutes were to be evaluated based on the status of registered engineers.
At the design institute, you need to take exams to obtain both certificates, and both of them are very useful. Someone like me, who isn’t working in a design firm, still wants to become an environmental assessment engineer. Having multiple skills is never a disadvantage.
