As is well known, horizontal screw centrifuges often experience blockages during operation. I would like to share with you the methods I know for resolving this issue: when the auxiliary frequency converter of a horizontal screw centrifuge fails to start due to an overload alarm, we can remove the protective cover from the auxiliary motor and manually turn the pulley on the input shaft of the differential gear several times. If there is any sticking, it indicates that too much material is trapped between the screw and the drum, causing the screw to get stuck. The solution is as follows: 1. Use something to block the differential pulley; manually rotate the drum by turning the steering wheel until a significant reduction in resistance is felt. Then adjust the main and auxiliary machines to a lower frequency and start them at low speed, followed by rinsing with water to clean it thoroughly. 2. Some horizontal screw centrifuges use foreign frequency converters such as ABB. AB. Siemens. Wait, some frequency converters have a dedicated low-speed protection start mode. It would be possible to achieve low-speed, high-torque starting. So, simply adjust the main and auxiliary machines to the low-speed mode and use water for flushing. 3. Another method is to lock the drum in place, remove the water-blocking adjustment plate at the end of the drum, set the auxiliary machine to reverse rotation to allow some of the material to be discharged through the drum’s drainage outlet, and then switch the auxiliary machine to forward rotation for discharging the material. Repeat this process. This method is suitable for horizontal screw conveyors with a very high length-to-diameter ratio where the material buildup is so severe that it cannot be moved manually at all.
