It is generally said that the pump flow rate can be adjusted by controlling the opening degree of the pump’s outlet valve. But when the valve at the pump outlet is a ball valve, can the flow rate still be adjusted through its opening degree? I hope fellow users can help clarify this! Thank you! The range for adjusting flow rate is very small, and the high pressure at the pump outlet makes it difficult to operate the ball valve using a assist mechanism.
Ball valves do not offer as good throttling control as throttle valves, so it is better to use throttle valves. Ball valves may also not perform very well.
It can also be adjusted on a small scale, but the effect is not good.
A globe valve is used to control flow; it’s not recommended to use a ball valve for this purpose, but it’ll do in a pinch~~~:lol

Ball valves can certainly regulate flow, but the range of adjustment is not very large; therefore they are not ideal for use and fail to achieve the desired results. Frequent use can have an impact on the sealing surfaces, and it is difficult to control flow at low levels. Generally, gate valves and throttle valves are used for such regulation. It doesn’t work well; use a throttle valve instead! Additionally: the pump outlet is usually equipped with a resistance control valve, while the inlet has a flow control valve.
Ball valves can regulate flow, but it’s hard to get the right balance! Regulating valves, globe valves, and gate valves can all be used. But I personally recommend gate valves; I believe it’s not possible to keep going to the site for adjustments, and gate valves are inexpensive.
