Reversing the motor of a reciprocating pump does not affect the air delivery volume, as the volume of the cylinder does not change when it is reversed.

I thought the motor worked the same whether it was reversed or rotated forward? ?
There are several reciprocating metering pumps in my workshop. During the trial run conducted by the manufacturer last time, it was found that one of them had its wiring reversed; yet it still managed to deliver fluid (the medium used for the trial run). The measurement should be fine, but I’m not sure about what those people upstairs said regarding the fact that this doesn’t affect the measurement values. The manufacturer said that the stroke adjustment is done in the forward direction, and if it operates in reverse, it might affect the amount of fluid delivered. Does that mean there is indeed an impact? Is it still the manufacturer trying to deceive people?

However, some of the mechanisms that serve as regulators may be related to steering, and they can affect stroke adjustment. For reciprocating pumps that use sliding bushings, if oil grooves are present, it can lead to poor formation of the oil film, so this should be taken into consideration!
