Our company used to be a state-owned enterprise, and as we all know, state-owned enterprises place great emphasis on interpersonal relationships – things can get quite complicated there. Without those connections, it’s impossible to get promoted. But fortunately, as long as you’re willing to build those relationships and spend money, you can get promoted and have your salary increased, without affecting anyone else. Later, our company was restructured and turned into a private enterprise. The dynamics in a private enterprise are even stronger: as long as you have people working for you, whether they are the boss, the chairman, or the manager, you will quickly get promoted and see an increase in your salary. Worse than the state-owned era is that those who are not familiar with you won’t even accept your gifts; as for those who have no connection with you, that’s the situation they’ll have to live with for the rest of their lives.
