I currently work at a petrochemical company. My former roommate changed jobs to work in design, and it was from him that I learned about petrochemical process design. To be honest, petrochemical companies are like those at a lower level in the field of petrochemistry; the true essence of this field lies in process design. This is my current understanding of petrochemical companies and design. Driven by my interest in design and the desire to move away from the polluted petrochemical companies, I thought about changing careers to work in design. I sent out many resumes, but got no response, as if they had vanished into thin air. Although it doesn’t mean we’ll go hungry because of this, I still want to understand what product design is, despite feeling disappointed What software is being used? Because I’m only proficient in AUTO CAD; I know nothing about other software used for design. As I gradually got to know this field, I learned about several commonly used process simulation software programs, such as Aspen Plus and Pro II. Yesterday, I finally downloaded and installed these two programs. After looking at the interface of Aspen Plus 2006, I realized it was a completely different world – a very complex system. After reading what some guys shared, I realized that this field is truly profound and requires a good understanding of chemical thermodynamics and principles of chemical engineering – knowledge I haven’t touched much since taking those courses in college. This software is still in English, and there are no tutorials available. I feel a lot of pressure to master it, but I will try my best. I also hope to get help from experienced peers, and I look forward to growing together in the field of design. . .
