Operating Procedures for Reciprocating High-Pressure Pumps I. Before Starting 1. Check that all connection points and screws are tight. 2. Check the quality of the lubricating oil and its level. 3. Check the tension of the belt and adjust it if necessary. 4. Check whether the motor and wiring are correct, securely fastened, and in good condition. 5. Rotate the pulley to make the large pulley turn more than two full rotations; there should be no obstacles in the moving mechanism. 6. Open the valves on the inlet and outlet pipelines, as well as the bypass valve on the outlet pipeline and the vent valve on the pump body. Once all the liquid has drained out through the vent valve, close it. 7. Turn on the lubricating oil pump and check whether the operating pressure is normal ; Check that the discharge pressure of the safety valve is 1.08–1.1 times the rated operating pressure. 8. Check whether the pressure gauge is sensitive and accurate. II. Startup and operation: 1. After confirming that the pump is free of faults, connect the power supply to the motor. Once the pump reaches its rated power, close the bypass valve to enable the pump to operate under no-load conditions (new pumps or pumps that have undergone major repairs must run under no-load conditions for 2 hours before they can be operated under load). 2. During operation under load, the pressure should be increased in steps at 1/4 of the rated pressure every 30 minutes. If any abnormal conditions occur during this process, the pump should be stopped immediately for inspection; once the cause is identified and the fault is resolved, operation can resume. If there are no conditions for gradual voltage increase, the voltage can be raised directly to the rated level, provided that the pump runs idle for more than 4 hours. 3. During operation under load, the instantaneous maximum pressure shall not exceed 110% of the rated pressure. 4. Inspections during pump operation: ① Check whether the sound from the power end is normal, and ensure that the amount of lubricating oil is within the specified range ; ②Check whether the temperatures of all components are normal; the temperature of each bearing should not exceed 75 degrees, the temperature of the motor should not exceed 90 degrees, and the temperature of the lubricating oil should not exceed 70 degrees ; ③Check whether the lubricating oil pump is working properly, and ensure that the lubricating oil pressure is above 0.2 MPa ; ④Check that the outlet pressure of the pump and its displacement meet the requirements ; ⑤Check that the inlet and outlet valves are operating normally with no abnormalities ; ⑥Is there significant liquid leakage when the plunger is in operation? ; ⑦Check that all screws and flange nuts are not loose. III. Pump shutdown: 1. Open the bypass valve in the drainage line to allow the pump to operate under no-load conditions. 2. Cut off the motor current. 3. Close the valves and bypass valves on the inlet and outlet pipelines.
