We are using screw-type ice machines, but it’s impossible to see the liquid level in the oil separator of these machines, whether they are running or stopped. Do any experts know what could be the reason?
A screw chiller oil separator generally has two chambers, one at the front and one at the back; the front chamber is used for storing oil, while the back chamber is used for storing air. The front chamber level gauges are two, placed side by side; the oil level is controlled at the 1/2 to 2/3 position of the upper gauge, allowing for accurate detection of the oil level. There is one rear chamberoscope, used to check the separation efficiency of oil. The absence of a liquid level is normal, indicating that the oil filter element has an excellent filtering effect. If the level of the mirror fluid cannot be determined, careful observation should be carried out continuously during the initial filling to create a visual reference for future use. No, we only have a level gauge under the oil; it can be seen sometimes, but not most of the time. For example, if an ice machine has been running for a month, it’s not clear how much oil has been consumed; one wants to know this but is unable to do so. How do companies handle the issue of liquid level in such cases? Also, how often does an ice machine need to have its oil replaced?
May I ask the original poster: which factory does your machine come from and what is its model number? Please tell me so that I can try to find relevant information.
It’s a machine from Dalian Iceberg Group; I can’t remember the exact model, but it has screws
It is recommended to contact the equipment manager to determine the model; it’s unlikely that the workshop management has no measures in place.
We used five JZLG-20 model machines from Dalian Iceberg; the earliest ones were purchased in 2003 and the latest in 2007. All of them have three oil level gauges – it’s impossible for a machine to have only one gauge.
Our machine doesn’t have any viewports at all; it only has a level gauge, which is often not visible.
The chiller seems to not have an issue with oil in the exhaust gas.
