Please share your experiences – has there been any occurrence of liquid being carried backward along the outlet pipe of the absorption tower during the production process?
The outlet stream of the carbon dioxide absorption tower contains methanol. Reasons for this include: 1. Mismatch in circulation volume, 2. Unstable gas flow velocity, 3. Excessively high temperatures, etc.:lol :lol :lol
The pressure difference in the absorption tower is too high~! Either it is caused by foreign objects blocking the trays, resulting in an excessively high liquid level on those trays, or by unstable flow rates of the process gas, which leads to liquid being carried in the purified gas
It generally doesn’t contain liquid. . If there is liquid present, there are two possibilities: either the demister at the top of the tower is faulty, resulting in poor separation efficiency. The second is the issues with the absorber itself, such as circulation rate and temperature. Generally, when starting up the unit, if the trays are not clean, flooding can occur, which leads to liquid being carried in the process gas. Additionally, if the loading rate is too high, the resistance of the tower increases rapidly, and this situation can also arise.

Liquid entrainment in the vapor line at the outlet of the absorption tower is prone to occur during startup, mainly due to too rapid gas introduction. In normal production, the presence of liquid is usually due to an excessively high liquid level in the tray!
