Discussion on the determination of copper by BCO

BCO (bis(oxalodihydrazone)) is a good colorimetric reagent for copper, but the samples we are working with contain too high levels of iron, which results in inaccurate measurement values when using direct dissolution methods. The specific composition is as follows: Cu: 0.10–0.30%, Fe: 50–60%, Si: 20%. Please share your ideas on how to eliminate the interference caused by iron in order to obtain more accurate measurement results for these samples. I’ll definitely give extra points to good posts.
