A few days ago, I designed a horizontal condenser (with cooling water on the tube side). Since the team leader was not available, I asked someone else to review it, and after approval it was put into production. As a result, today the team leader saw the drawings and said that the rear pipe box lacks exhaust and drain holes, which need to be added. Is this important? I also saw people in the forum discussing opening drainage holes in the partitions; it seems I don’t have those in my original drawing either. Under what circumstances must these be turned on, and is it related to the medium? Are all heat exchange equipment necessary? Also, how should the dimensions of these components be determined? It’s okay; it’s inevitable to make mistakes at first. As time goes by and experience increases, one will be able to handle things on their own. Now is the time to be humble and keep learning. I remember that when I designed a pressure vessel buffer tank for the first time, I forgot to consider the reinforcement of the manhole and the inlet pipes inside the tank. It’s fine; everything will work out in the end. As for the vent holes and drain holes, it seems they are necessary. The reason is the same as mentioned above.

Exhaust and drain ports generally need to be provided, usually using threaded nozzles and plugs with a small diameter (such as G3/4”).
I changed the drawings today; previously the team leader had a set of drawings for reference, and it was my own lack of attention to detail. What the person upstairs said is correct – I used pipe plugs in accordance with GB/T 3287-2000
Vent holes and drain holes are generally provided to remove air and liquid during hydrostatic testing or when the machine is shut down. The openings in the partition plates serve two purposes: one is to allow fluid drainage, and the other is to maintain pressure balance while the equipment is in operation.
The size of the drain port is related to the diameter of the equipment. The larger drain ports also use DN25. :)
