Based on the working principle of vacuum pumps, they can basically be divided into two types: gas transfer pumps and gas capture pumps. Gas transfer pump: A gas transfer pump is a type of vacuum pump that enables continuous intake and discharge of gas in order to achieve pumping action. They can be divided into variable-volume vacuum pumps and momentum transfer pumps. A variable-volume vacuum pump is a type of vacuum pump that utilizes periodic changes in the volume of its pumping chamber to carry out the processes of suction and exhaust. The gas is compressed before being discharged. These pumps are divided into reciprocating and rotary types. Momentum transfer pumps transfer momentum to gases or gas molecules through rapidly rotating blades or high-speed jets, enabling the gas to be continuously transported from the pump’s inlet to the outlet. They can be classified into five types: molecular vacuum pumps, jet vacuum pumps, diffusion pumps, diffusion-jet pumps, and ion transfer pumps. A gas capture pump is a type of vacuum pump that adsorbs or condenses gas molecules on the inner surface of the pump, thereby reducing the number of gas molecules in the container and achieving evacuation. It can be specifically classified into adsorption pumps, getter pumps, getter ion pumps, and cryopumps.
