Ours are Woody electrolytic cells, and there are strict regulations regarding the situation mentioned by the original poster: generally, the operation time should not exceed 8 hours, otherwise drainage is required. However, after six years of operation so far, it is common to drain the liquid when the cycle is stopped for an extended period of time. Ensure the good condition of the cell and the normal operation of the membrane.
The analyses upstairs are all good, but over a long period of time, the concentration of the catholyte will decrease, and the decrease will be significant.
For chlorine production electrolyzers, it is required that if no maintenance is carried out after shutdown, the electrolyte be stored within the electrolyzer – that is, the liquid should not be drained and remain stored inside the electrolyzer!
