Warm the sheets, caress my emptiness as you leave.” The light of the neon signs is broken by dawn; the darkness fades away as day arrives. The sunlight warms the sheets and soothes the loneliness that remains after you’ve gone. Lying here in the afterglow, tears stream down my face. Though I know that my foolish mistakes mean I must bear the consequences, I can’t back down. Can’t you see? Although you want to stay, you leave before daybreak. I never say those words… How could I? Stay with me until morning. Even though you want to remain, you still leave before sunrise. I want to speak, but I can’t; how could I? Please stay with me until dawn.
