How should a graywater heat exchanger be selected, U-tube type? Fixed tube sheet? Internal floating head type? Please analyze which one is the best?
It’s best not to choose a U-tube heat exchanger type, as it tends to get clogged! Our original U-tube type often got clogged, so we basically switched to the shell-and-tube type!
I was wondering, after switching to a shell-and-tube design, how do you clean the shell side? Doesn’t dust accumulate there? Have you noticed that the pipes leak frequently?

Internal floating-head heat exchangers are the best. Both the tube side and shell side are easy to clean
