In a batch packed distillation column, what impact does the level of vacuum have on the distillation process? I would appreciate some guidance from the seniors.

It can be understood in terms of the effect of pressure on the tower, only with the understanding applied in reverse.

Since the pressure of the material in the distillation tower is proportional to its temperature, and the lower the vacuum level, the boiling point required for distillation is lower than that at atmospheric pressure； Generally speaking, the higher the temperature, the shorter the service life of the distillation tower. Therefore, it is necessary to achieve a certain level of vacuum in the distillation tower before starting the distillation process; this not only helps to prevent the product from oxidizing quickly but also protects the equipment and extends the lifespan of the distillation tower.
