The material used is carbon steel pipe, and the medium is a mixture of carbon monoxide and liquid alkali. Leaks often occur at the inner pipe joints, as well as at the welded areas. Let’s discuss whether it’s a material issue or a welding rod issue Is it still due to medium corrosion?
If the corrosivity of the medium is too high, it is recommended to use stainless steel 316L to avoid such issues. The carbon steel pipes in use must be replaced to prevent injuries to operators during operation
Replacing it with stainless steel is unlikely due to the high cost.
