Is a suction device necessary for the catalyst outlet of the converter?

Has anyone used a suction device to remove the catalyst from the converter? I would be very grateful for your advice!
We used a manual shovel; we couldn’t use too much force, we haven’t tried it yet
Our factory has used it, but during operation it is necessary to pay attention to controlling the suction force; the pipes should be arranged in such a way that the bending points have as large a radius of curvature as possible.
Could you explain the principle behind this device or how it operates?
It’s just an industrial vacuum cleaner.
