For both our desulfurization processes involving vaporization and urea compression, activated carbon tanks are used for desulfurization; in the former case, the flow is from bottom to top, while in the latter it is from top to bottom. We would like to hear from fellow sailors which arrangement yields better results
The advantage of an upper air inlet is that there is no need to install grills at the top of the packing layer, eliminating the concern of the packing being blown away or carried away； The drawback is the inability to separate the water from the gas; when there is a large amount of liquid present, it will directly enter the activated carbon layer and soak it. The intake at the bottom is the opposite. Upper and lower air intake have no effect on the adsorption performance of activated carbon. We have three sets of double-tower series precision distillation systems, with air intake at the bottom of the first tower and at the top of the second tower.
We have a dual-tower series decarburization system connected in series after the decarburization system; air is introduced at the bottom of the first tower and at the top of the second tower.
