When the flow meter is in operation, is the medium being measured flowing in from below and out from above? Please give your advice
Regarding what LZ mentioned about whether the medium measured by a flow meter operates in a downward-in and upward-out direction, this requirement is explicitly specified for rotameters: the medium must flow downward in and upward out, and the flow meter must be installed vertically. For other types of flow meters, specific requirements depend on the medium being measured; for example, the same requirement applies when using an orifice plate flow meter to measure gases.
To meet certain specific process requirements, some flow meters have rotors that allow flow from top to bottom; generally, however, the flow is from bottom to top. Some gear meters used for measuring gases come in a design with flow from top to bottom as well
What kind of flow meter? Rotameters, electromagnetic flow meters, and vortex flow meters are all different
